Big J - The Boy Next Door [Mixtape Limelight]

Hailing from Miami, Lil Haiti’s &and Rum Squad Music Groups Big J (Gizzle) is knocking down doors and making his way into the rap game. Unfortunately before he could make those moves, in 2004 thestate of Florida dropped a drug case in Big J's lap which led to the lonerhaving to endure a 3 year stretch. In this period he used the time to re-asseshis priorities and harness his focus in a different direction. Fast forward to2011 and J eventually linked up with The Rum Squad Music Group and was punishing thestreets with hits like; "Shout Out (My Neck, My Wrist). It’s now2012 and Big J (Gizzle) has released his
debuted mixtape/EP,The Boy Next Door.

From the initial start of listening tothe mixtape, you can see that Big J wasn’t playing when he went to work onthis project. The first track, Shout Out featuring Mista Mac, Iwas automatically overwhelmed and consumed by the quality of the studio qualitymusic, but he didn’t slip on the lyrics either. His gritty voice laced the 5tracks of this EP with hood certified lyrics that your average neighborhoodrapper wouldn’t even fathom to relate to even if he tried. The mixtape features4 tracks of production from Miami’s own D-Roc on the Track as well as well as 2 freestyles to Jay- Zand Kanye West’s - Niggas in Paris and Red Cafes – Let It Go. Co-singedby the little Haiti streets that bred him, Big J is poised to make his mark, his way, in historic fashion.
